It’s so funny to me that we all feared that one of them would be dead (and assumed it had to be sinan since he was suicidal all his youth) because we only saw three people receive a letter and in reality it was just sinan who didn’t get a letter because he was married to isik all along :‘)
Kerem is my comfort character now like him in season 2 is just 💗💗💗💗💗
also THE GROWTH between his relationship with Sinan like in season 1 they basically HATED each other. Always arguing about something but in season 2 total change. Like him promising Sinan he would turn the world upside down for him -basically their entire conversation after the fire- come to think of it, Kerem is the first person Sinan opened up to like even before the fire Kerem. He asked Sinan if he was alright and Sinan didnt lie or anything he told the truth. Even when he says “I don’t know” it’s because he really doesn’t know and he didn’t try to be a smart mouth.
Basically I love their friendship and I love Kerem AND Sinan.
Işık dumping that bucket full of red paint screaming suck my dick you fuckers while feeling good by nina simone plays in the background is one of the most groundbreaking, raw, cinematic, poetic and empowering girlboss moments I’ve ever seen.
While I am extremely excited for Shang-Chi, I do have one concern that I hope will be addressed in the movie:
They better emphasize that Shang-Chi is arguably the greatest martial artist in the entire Marvel universe. And I’m not just bullshitting here, Shang-Chi could take on superhuman characters without superpowers. Like, if there’s one character you wouldn’t want to throw hands with, it’s this guy.
So no, I don’t want them to hold back. Go all-out and show just how dangerous this man is when it comes to martial arts. Turn him into a John Wick-Baba Yaga figure if you have to, just don’t downplay his skills.
Wong is secretly the MVP of MCU phase 4. He’s helping Shang-Chi deal with the Mandarin and he’s being responsible with his magic unlike Dr. Strange. And if you want to go back even further, he’s definitely the more responsible sorcerer between him and Strange. Like he’s just always been this cool dude who’s keeping the Sanctum together.
Hey Kevin Feige…how about a Wong Disney+ TV show? I feel the man has earned his own series at this point.
(also, this could be a good way to reintroduce Nico Minoru back into canon since she could be his apprentice but that’s just me spitballing ideas…)
simu going “i think you’d agree with me, we didn’t really have [onscreen heroes] growing up,” and the asian interviewer replying “we had nobody. we had nobody growing up,” as she points directly at him, “and now we have you.”
Don’t you dare hate shang-chi cuz it’s another Marvel superhero whatever
My Asian ass has been waiting for somebody with my skin color to be the LEADING SUPERHERO and NOT A SIDEKICK!!!! this is not an another whatsoever
I have been so sick of Asian actors being cast as sidelined characters & the studios being proud that they’re so thoughtful and diverse etc etc and finally I’m getting an Asian with his set of powers who gets to tell his story up front without a help from a white person and this means so much so don’t come at me and tell me this seems like a generic superhero film because it will never be generic to me
